Research Partners

Research in green logistics (sustainable transport, green supply chains) and related aspects is not new.
Already in the 1970s, a lot of studies on urban freight investigated the growing problem of mobility and freight transport in our cities.

The institute of logistics and distribution management in the UK published the Logistics and the Environment report in 1993 and several studies were published since then.

Most research in this area is funded by national government, or state government in the USA, and by private companies. The international co-ordination of research in green logistics and in transport in general is relatively new. The ERA-NET TRANSPORT coordinates transport research in Europe and the Transport Research Board fulfils a more or less similar role in the USA. Coordination at a worldwide level has not been achieved yet.

Many of our partners are involved in Green Logistics Research initiatives and work closely together with leading institutes. One of the objectives of the Green Logistics Consultants Group is to strengthen the relationship with the academic world and to collect and disseminate relevant research results from all over the world.
